about Julie
I enjoy working with and facilitating people towards their potential of greater health on all levels (physical, mental, emotional & spiritual).
I give clients care, quality time and expertise using a wealth of acupuncture experience.
I have been in practice as an acupuncturist since 1993 and worked within the NHS as a radiographer for over 20 years including womens health/breast screening. Latterly, within the NHS I chose to work in a 'non-invasive' environment and trained (PGc) in reporting radiography with sole interest in fractures within the local community hospital. I realised 20 years ago there was a completely different approach in western healthcare that I call a 'gap' and understood energy or Qi within holistic health held those answers.
I studied Traditional chinese medicine (Acupuncture) at the Northern College of Acupuncture, York for 3 years gaining a diploma with distinction and have been a member of the BAcC since. I am fully insured with the British Acupuncture council and follow a strict code of ethics and professional guidelines. I am continually learning and participating in continuing professional development, attending courses each year. I have studied Qi Gong with Paul Cavel, Brad Richecouer and Master Bingkun Hu.
I have taught at the Northern college of acupuncture as a regional tutor and point location instructor. I have also taught in the student clinical setting at Salford University. I have studied Tuina in Shanghai, China and practise/study Qi Gong as an ongoing process. I have been interested in energetics of the body for over 20 years and have studied Reiki and Reflexology and have studied Kinergenics in Perth, Australia.
My treatment style is from a vast experience of working with people, understanding the individual, whether it be a simple physical problem or a deeper mental/emotional issue. I work from a solid knowledge base of TCM and am an intuitive also. I have successfully worked with a wide range of imbalances/diseases.
With increased health and a more balanced energy the person becomes more vital, positive and engaged in life. Most of my clients are from ‘word of mouth’.
I am presently studying art in my spare time and have recently painted landscape, the sea, portraits and created sculptures.
I love the outdoors and the different seasons, being near the sea, the mountains, music, enjoying life.
