Frequently asked questionsHow long does a treatment take?
The first treatment Including consultation takes up to 1¼ hrs. Follow-up treatments take approx. ¾ hr.

What does a consultation involve?
Questions re. the presenting problem, overall health, medical history, medication etc. Looking at the tongue briefly and taking both wrist pulses for a few mins each.

How much does the treatment cost?
The first treatment cost (inc. consultation) is £65 and follow-up treatments cost £50 per session.

How long are the needles in place?
Usually about 20 mins.

How does it feel, is It painful?
Sensations are described as tingly, numb or dull - often described as feeling relaxed but alert. Insertion of the needles is usually painless though there may occasionally be a slight pricking sensation.

How many treatments will I need?
A general well known rule is one month of weekly treatments for every year of the problem. Acupuncture has a cumulative affect.

How will I know if it’s working?
Results are usually felt within 3 sessions and a realistic treatment plan is discussed… usually weekly treatments initially and moving to wider spaced appointments when possible.

Is it safe?
Yes, the needles are sterile and disposable and used once only. I follow strict guidelines.
